Massive DLC savings arrive for recently released Games on Demand version of FF XIII-2

Square Enix is so pumped for their new Final Fantasy XV title that they decided to offer gamers MASSIVE SAVINGS for their previous game, Final Fantasy XIII-2. Recently released this week as a Games on Demand title for the 360 and PS3 (meaning you can download it from the comfort of your couch for a measly $ 20) Final Fantasy XIII-2 tells the expanded story of Lightning, Snow, and Sazh, in their quest to deliver as many weather puns as possible. Square Enix knows players crave DLC, too, which is why all outfits, opponents, and additional side-stories have been bundled together for the adventure. Creatively called the Final Fantasy XIII-2 Bundle Pack, this collection of additional content costs 1360 Microsoft Points on the 360 and $ 17 on the PS3, and includes the following goodies:

Serah’s Outfit: White Mage
Mog’s Outfits: A Wondrous Wardrobe
Lightning: Requiem of the Goddess
Snow: Perpetual Battlefield
Noel’s Outfit: Black Mage
Noel’s Outfit: Assassin’s Creed
Opponent: Gilgamesh

Opponent: Nabaat

Final Fantasy XIII-2 DLC Collection announced for Japan, coming in July

A DLC-stuffed version of Final Fantasy XIII-2 is headed for Japanese retail shelves on July 18. Square Enix released a ton of additional content for the JRPG sequel, and the ‘Digital Contents Collection,’ going for around $ 50, offers most of it.

The bundle features the Snow, Lightning, and Sazh episodes, as well as three weapons, seven costumes, and six Coliseum opponents. Gematsu has the full list. Also, the DLC from the Collection is coming in its own bundle to PSN and XBLM.

Square Enix is also re-releasing the game in the country under the ‘Ultimate Hits’ label. That version arrives in stores on the same day, but also on PSN and XBLM two days prior.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 has Lightning deals on DLC this week

Final Fantasy 132 DLC on sale this week, Lightning deals

Square Enix is slapping some discounts on the plethora of Final Fantasy XIII-2 DLC, with all twenty-plus items on sale on the Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network. True, most of the premium downloadables feature weapons and outfits (though what outfits they are), but there are discounted options for those who focus on the ‘content’ side of downloadable content.

‘Lightning: Requiem of the Goddess’ is 50 percent off at 200 MSP/$ 2.49 on XBLM and PSN. Within is an episode which sees you play out Lightning’s story in a battle with Caius, before unlocking the heroine of Final Fantasy XIII as a party member. Also going at half-off is ‘Sazh: Heads or Tails’ for the same price, and Snow: Perpetual Battlefield at 160 MSP/$ 1.99. Both unlock the named heroes for use in the sequel.

The sale doesn’t end for another week, so there’s plenty of time for you to… what’s that? You just want to see Serah in N7 armor? Well, fine, you go do that.

Last Batch Of Final Fantasy XIII-2 DLC Drops Today

Today marks the end of an era, as the final wave of Final Fantasy XIII-2 DLC hits the PS3 and Xbox 360. The downloads include costumes for Noel, Serah, and Mog, as well as two playable episodes.

Here's what Square Enix has to say about Snow’s Story: Perpetual Battlefield:

Snow is engaged in battles at the Coliseum after being separated from his fiancée, Serah. The episode also features a battle against the “Arbiter of Time,” who has been watching events unfold at the Coliseum. Snow should pose a difficult challenge to players and will allow them to end the Coliseum battles on a high note, and ultimately unlock Snow as a party member.

The other downloadable episode is Lightning’s Story: Requiem of the Goddess:

This DLC reveals the arduous battle between Lightning and Caius not shown in the main game. Players will be able to adjust the difficulty level and play as Lightning, who uses special abilities available only in this episode. Players will also be able to unlock the Final Fantasy XIII-2 version of Lightning as a party member. Because the episode includes important information relating to the overall storyline of
Final Fantasy  XIII-2, players are encouraged to complete the game prior to playing through this new content.

Here's the list of today's DLC, which is available for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game.

  • Snow’s Story: Perpetual Battlefield DLC episode: 320 Microsoft Points/$ 3.99
  • Lightning’s Story: Requiem of the Goddess DLC episode: 400 Microsoft Points/$ 4.99
  • White Mage outfit for Serah Farron: 240 Microsoft Points/$ 2.99
  • Black Mage outfit for Noel Kreiss: 240 Microsoft Points/$ 2.99
  • A Wondrous Wardrobe outfits for Mog: 240 Microsoft Points/$ 2.99

See The Final Fantasy XIII-2 Assassin’s Creed DLC In Motion

We saw the Final Fantasy XIII-2 Ezio costume in stills this weekend, but now we can see it in motion.

Just a heads up, this trailer does apparently have some spoilers in it. Check it out below at your own risk.

Someone got Ezio in my Final Fantasy XIII-2

Ezio Auditore da Firenze is a man’s man — he’s rugged, ripped, mysterious and he looks menacing even in a dress-like robe. Ubisoft worked hard to make Ezio project such a style in the Assassin’s Creed titles, and is so confident in its wardrobe choices that it’s let Square Enix throw Ezio’s classic hood and straps on Noel in Final Fantasy XIII-2. Surely the layered, butchy furs and armor will remain as masculine with a smooth-skinned, pouty man underneath. Surely.

The Ezio outfit is available now on Xbox Live for $ 3 (240 MS Points), and tomorrow on PSN. See for yourself how Ezio’s clothes look on Noel, minus the hidden blades and plus a few glowing swords, in the above video and screens below.

First Final Fantasy XIII-2 Assassin’s Creed DLC Screens Hit The Web

The characters of Final Fantasy XIII-2 have modeled high fashion, Mass Effect costumes, and now we get to see them in Assassin's Creed garb.

We knew Ezio's costume would make an appearance as DLC, but this is the first time we've seen it in action. The DLC featured in the screens below will arrive in Japan on April 10, but we're not sure if that means the same date for North America.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 DLC adds Ezios and UFOs

Crossover content returns to Final Fantasy XIII-2 in Japan, with the Ezio costume for Noel finally making its appearance on April 10. It’s not Prada, but it’ll fit. Coming along with Ezio’s togs is Gilgamesh, a coliseum fighter who, like others, can be recruited.

The other downloadable coliseum battle announced for Japan is Koyo-Koyo, which is an adorable group of aliens in a flying saucer. You kill them.

Ezio DLC, more headed to Final Fantasy XIII-2

Commander Shepard’s armor not doing it for you, Final Fantasy XIII-2 players? Maybe this’ll help.

Noel is about to get ahold of Ezio’s iconic garments from the Assassin’s Creed series. Sera of course won’t be left in the cold; she’s getting an “Exposure and Defense” outfit designed by AKB48 member Yuko Oshima.

They won’t be all dressed up with nowhere to go, either; Gilgamesh has been announced as the next Coliseum monster.

No dates for the contents yet though.
