Here’s Everything Included In Tomorrow’s Free Titanfall 2 Update

Titanfall 2 is receiving its first major update of 2017, which adds a new mode, new maps, and a slew of overall improvements.

Live Fire mode, as we've previously covered, is a pilots-only mode with a focus on chaotic gunfights and daring escapes. The six-on-six matches feature no respawns and see teams battling over control of a single neutral flag. Live Fire will launch with two new maps designed specifically for the mode.

Tomorrow's update offers a host of other features, including an overhauled matchmaking system and a "featured playlist" option that will rotate modes on a weekly basis and offer bonus XP. New faction intros, an execution move, and a new map for Coliseum mode are also included in the update, along with tons of minute balance fixes.

The Live Fire update will be available tomorrow, February 23. As with all of Titanfall 2's post-release content, the update is free for all players.

Dirt Rally’s VR Update Out Now

PlayStation VR is getting a new heavy-hitter with today's release of a VR upgrade for Dirt Rally.

This DLC allows players to enjoy the entirety of Codemasters's critically-acclaimed rally racing simulator in virtual reality. While the base game has yet to receive a PS4 Pro patch, the VR experience will be optimized for owners of Sony's more powerful hardware. The other new feature of the VR upgrade is the inclusion of a unique co-op mode which sees a second player calling out turns and hazards for the driver through on-screen button prompts on the television screen.

(Please visit the site to view this media)

The upgrade costs $ 12.99 on its own, or can be purchased as part of a bundle with the base game and all previous DLC packs for $ 69.99. However, until February 28, the bundle will be available at a discounted rate: $ 43.39, with an extra 9 percent off for PlayStation Plus subscribers, bringing the price all the way down to $ 37.09. Not exactly a nice, round number, but who are we to complain about a sale?

Check out GI's original review for Dirt Rally here. The next title in the series, Dirt 4, is scheduled for release on June 6; read Kato's column on the future of the series here.

New Pokémon Are Not Yet Available In Go, But The Promised Update Is Live

The promised update for Pokémon Go is now available, but new Gold & Silver Pokémon are not showing up in the wild yet.

The update changes some UI things (like being able to select Poké Balls and berries more easily), and also gives more clothing options (like being able to remove your hat), but doesn't deliver the big addition yet – new Pokémon.

We'll be keeping an eye on the game to see when the new creatures are available, but for now it's probably a good idea to go ahead and grab the update.

Our Take
It's borderline embarrassing how excited I am to catch new Pokémon.

Latest Destiny Update Brings New Balance Changes

Bungie continues to update is online multiplayer shooter, and the latest hotfix for Destiny has a significant impact on players' PvP experience.

According to Bungie's notes, the rebalancing efforts for the sandbox apply across the whole game, but will have important ramifications in the Crucible.

Important changes involve modifications to the special ammo economy, Elimination game mode structure (which affects Trials of Osiris), and the properties of certain primary weapons like the recently popular high rate-of-fire  pulse rifles. Of particular note, shotguns are seeing some dramatic changes to the way they shoot, which may have a profound effect on the flow of most multiplayer competitive matches.

Of course, the full list is more detailed and exhaustive. Check it out for the complete rundown.

Our Take
Destiny has not been getting much new content, and this rebalance doesn't make major strides toward giving players anything new to accomplish. However, the changes do show Bungie's commitment to fine-tuning the experience, so lapsed players may still have fun jumping back into their Guardians' shoes.

Street Fighter V’s Kolin, 2017 Update Plans Revealed

After weeks of speculation, the latest addition to Street Fighter V's roster, Kolin, has finally been confirmed with a new trailer. The frosty fighter made her debut in Street Fighter V's story mode last year, and after a recent Reddit leak it seemed certain she would be the next character for Street Fighter V's second season, which will roll out a different manner than its first season did.

Based on the trailer, Kolin seems to be a rushdown-style character. Utilizing ice-based special attacks, she gets in close to Urien before delivering a flurry of blows culminating in an impressive super move.

In addition to the new fighter, Capcom also announced that Season 2's characters, all of whom will be new to the Street Fighter universe, will release every other month, instead of monthly. In the months where Capcom does not roll out a new character, Capcom "will have new information and content to talk about," according to the Capcom Unity blog. Finally, the team is looking to implement balance changes later this year to "bring characters in-line with how we envision them to perform." More info on what those changes will look like should arrive in March.

Kolin makes her Street Fighter V debut on February 28. For a look at the previous roster addition Akuma, you can click here.
