Skulls Of The Shogun: Bona-A-Fide Edition Coming To Steam Next Month

Skulls of the Shogun surprised Xbox Live Arcade players earlier this year with a quality dose of turn-based, tactical combat. Developer 17-Bit is officially bringing the game to Steam this July with added content and a new subtitle: Bone-A-Fide Edition.

The Bone-A-Fide Edition includes the full original game with an additional campaign episode. These four new chapters take place after the original game’s ending and are led by a new protagonist. A new unit, the Tanuki, and six multiplayer stages have also been added.

Skulls of the Shogun: Bone-A-Fide Edition will be available for purchase through Stream and the Humble Store this July for $ 14.99. You can pre-order the game now, however, and get immediate access to the game’s multiplayer beta for a discounted price of $ 11.99.

Merge Games is about to ask UK gamers, how awesome they really are. If their UK fan base is as good as the game, then it will be a resounding “Well, really awesome, actually.”

In a retail collaboration with Ronimo games, a loaded collector’s edition will be released June 28th. The collection includes costume pack DLC, the soundtrack, and an awesome (like that?) sticker. Think that’s too much to handle? Well, it also comes with a gift key to give to a friend to give them a taste as to why you have been avoiding them in League of Legends.

Stiq Figures, June 3 – 9: Ocarina of Time edition

Welcome to Stiq Figures, where the sales data is after the break and the posts don’t matter.

Now that another E3 is in the bag, we’re taking some time this week on Stiq Figures to look back at a trailer for a game shown off at E3 1997 by Nintendo. That game is The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and the video is kind of a mess and may not be from that E3 in particular, but still captures the excitement surrounding the game’s November 1998 release.

Isn’t it refreshing to watch a trailer that includes lots of in-game action? Those were the days.

World Of Tanks Xbox 360 Edition Preview – The PC Giant Rolls Over To 360

We learned that Microsoft was bringing Wargaming’s insanely popular World of Tanks franchise to the Xbox 360 during its E3 press conference, and now we have more specific information on how the game works.

World of Tanks Xbox 360 Edition is free to play for Xbox Live Gold members. Silver members can play the game and access all of its content for seven days, though they’ll need to upgrade if they want to continue playing beyond that introductory period.

Once they’re in players participate in 15-on-15 player battles. The game is essentially the same as the PC version, with no respawns, XP-draining repairs, and a wide array of tanks and other tank-like vehicles. The UI has been given an overhaul, with bar graphs replacing numbers for various armor ratings and other stats.

In the demo, we saw how a heavy tank fares against a diverse spread of opponents. There are five classifications of vehicles: light, medium, and heavy tanks, as well as the sniper-like tank destroyers and the artillery-packing self-controlled guns. Our tank took out a low wall, exposing an opponent. Its turret swiveled to face us, and we moved to the side to avoid its fire. At that point, both of us waited for our ammo to recycle. Once it did, we fired on the opponents’ tread, crippling it. Rather than wait for another reload, we took the absurdly aggressive approach of ramming the enemy, destroying it.

Players are still able to purchase items such as special ammo and new tanks with real money, though the developer says that a core design mantra is that it’s free to win. In short, as long as you pay attention to your opponents and the surroundings, you should be able to hold your own on the battlefield regardless of whether you decide to crack open your wallet.

The game is due out on the Xbox 360 this summer.

Mad Catz Tournament Edition 2 FightStick for Xbox One is customizable, out this fall

Mad Catz Tournament Edition 2 FightStick for Xbox One is customizable, out this fall

Mad Catz has a brand-spankin-new arcade stick to go along with Microsoft’s brand-spankin-new Xbox One: the Tournament Edition 2 FightStick. At first glance, it may look like nothing more than a slightly flashier version of the existing models, but beyond the fact that it comes equipped with the same Sanwa Denshi parts, the TE2 is a whole new beast.

The case opens on a hinge, to start with. Pressing the Mad Catz logo on the front of the unit releases a latch that grants access to the internals of the stick, which has been designed so that nearly every piece of the thing can be replaced or customized with the user’s choice of buttons, micro-switches, LED mods or what-have-you. There’s even compartments for extra buttons and an on-board screwdriver for removing the mounting bracket that holds the buttons and stick.

We weren’t allowed to photograph the inside of the stick as its design isn’t finalized, but we’re told the final version will also contain storage for spare joysticks and the TE2′s detachable cable, which will be sold in varying lengths. What we did see, however, was the stock LED lighting effects under the buttons and on the side panels. The stick is also designed in such a way that the artwork can be replaced without having to remove the joystick or buttons.

Mad Catz was unable to comment on whether replacement side panels will be sold, or if replacement plexiglass inserts will be available for people that prefer different button layouts. The Tournament Edition 2 FightStick will be available alongside the Xbox One at launch, though its price point has yet to be announced.

PlayStation 4 incompatible with PS3 Mad Catz Tournament Edition FightSticks

PlayStation 4 incompatible with PS3 Mad Catz Tournament Edition FightSticks

Mad Catz’s extensive line of PlayStation 3 Tournament Edition FightSticks will not function with Sony’s new PlayStation 4, Joystiq confirmed today with Mad Catz senior product development manager Richard Neville. “Playstation 4 will require a whole new set of peripherals,” Neville said.

Currently, Mad Catz has announced that it is launching a new and improved Tournament Edition 2 FightStick for the Xbox One when that console is released sometime this year, but the peripheral manufacturer was unable to comment on the availability of future PlayStation 4 sticks.
