Digital Version Of The Last Of Us Playable During Download

Naughty Dog has told Game Informer that its upcoming survival horror epic The
Last of Us will be released digitally through the PlayStation Store on June 14,
the same day that the game releases in stores on Blu-ray disc. There's also something special about this simultaneous release.

Naughty Dog's creative director Neil Druckmann and The Last of Us game director
Bruce Straley told Game Informer that Sony has worked a little magic so that you won't
have much of a delay before playing the digital version. The game will be
playable once the download hits 50 percent. Sony has promised that, on
PlayStation 4, downloadable games will be almost instantly playable while the download
carries on in the background.

CD Projekt RED releases beta version of REDkit as free download

Mod away my friends, mod away. According to Destructoid, CD Projekt RED, the developers of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, has released the beta version of its mod development kit, REDkit, as a free download.

More information on the development kit can be found on the official website. Keep in mind though that you’ll have to own The Witcher 2 and have it updated to version 3.3 to be able to download and use the modding kit.

Rumor: Lego City Undercover eShop download requires external hard drive

Aside from the requisite cash it’ll cost to download Lego City Undercover when it launches on the Wii U eShop next week, March 18, you’ll also need an external hard drive.

The information comes from the official game page. Clicking pre-order on the top-right provides two options: retail and eShop download. Underneath the eShop listing says “An external hard drive is required to download this software.” It may be a situation where the basic Wii U’s 8GB of storage isn’t enough for the download, or it’s possible an external hard drive is needed even with the 32GB deluxe model.

We’ve contacted Nintendo for more information. We’ll be sure to relay Nintendo’s final word as soon as we get it.

Charlie Murder wants you to give punk a chance, download a song

Charlie Murder is gearing up to trash XBLA sometime in the future, and Ska Studios is hard at work beating out all of the bugs in that version. James Silva and Michelle Juett Silva, the Ska Studios dream dishwashing team, are the voices, art, design, programming and music behind Charlie Murder – get a glimpse of their renaissance ways in the above video.

Charlie Murder is a four-player, punk-themed, RPG brawler featuring tattoos, magic, dual-nail-gun-wielding, battles of the bands, clothes shopping, friendship and other things you never knew you wanted within one game.

To tide us over until Charlie Murder launches, Ska offers us a song from the game’s soundtrack, available for download right here. Fictionally, the band is Charlie Murder, but in reality it’s the soothing sounds of James and Michelle themselves.

EA’s Origin Game Download Service Now Available For Macs

Electronic Arts' PC download service is no longer exclusively for PC games. Now you can use it download Mac compatible games, as well.

Along with all the requisite features from the PC version of Origin, like cloud saves and social networking options, you will also be able to buy a game once and play it on either operating system. As long as the game is compatible with both Mac and PC platforms, you only have to buy the game once to get both versions.

This isn't the full list, but at the moment EA has confirmed that Dragon Age 2, Batman: Arkham City GOTY Edition, LEGO Harry Potter, and The Sims 3 are all downloadable for Mac.

Ni No Kuni PSN EU download not working, being republished

Ni No Kuni PSN EU downloads not working, preorders unfulfilled

European PS3 owners who pre-ordered Ni No Kuni on PSN are still waiting for the game following download issues. Although the game, out today in Europe and Australasia, can be downloaded, when you try to play it a message appears saying it isn’t installed properly. PlayStation Europe says it’s republishing the game onto PSN now, and hopes to complete the process by afternoon time over there.

The PSN issues in Europe follow the debacle on the US side with pre-orders of the Wizard’s Edition, which left many customers with cancellations. The issues threaten to overshadow what’s generally been a very well received game, one which we doled out four and a half stars to in our review. We felt the Studio Ghilbi and Level-5 collaboration is what made the game tick, saying that “one without the other might have been good, but together they’ve created a superb role-playing game for this generation to savor.”

PlayStation Plus Members Get Free Darksiders Download

Starting tomorrow, PlayStation Plus members will be able to download Vigil Games' Darksiders for free. If you plan on staying up to start your download, be warned, it won't be available until the PSN Update hits. I recommend going to bed and dreaming about riding into the apocalypse rather than waiting for it to hit your PlayStation 3.

Sony kicked off 2013 with free downloads of NBA Jam: On Fire Edition, as well as Mega Man 9 and 10 (all three are still available as of this writing). Starting tomorrow, Star Drone will also be half-price, costing just $ 2.

Darksiders, Saints Row, Alice PC download bundles cheap on Amazon

If you’ve been meaning to check out the Darksiders franchise, you couldn’t pick a better time. For one thing, THQ could use the money. For another, it’s really not that much money today. For the next two days, the PC download version of the “Franchise Pack” containing both Darksiders games, a Season Pass, and a ton of DLC, is just $ 13.19 on Amazon. The Saints Row: The Third “Full Package” with the game and DLC is just $ 12.49.

In non-THQ download deals, the Alice: Madness Returns Complete Collection, with both Alice games, is $ 11.99. In all three cases, these bundles are cheaper than buying the individual games! So even if you only want one Darksiders game, you should go ahead and buy the full set.
