Red Dead Redemption’s Map Has Been Modded Into Grand Theft Auto V

As reported on NeoGAF, a modding team that goes by Team White has brought the Xbox 360 version of Red Dead Redemption's map to Grand Theft Auto V on PC. Tentatively titled "Red Dead Redemption V", the mod has taken just over two years to get to this point.

Team White says that players should expect a teaser trailer soon, with a beta coming sometime this summer. They also put out a brief FAQ, as wells as some pretty impressive screenshots, both of which you can take a look at here.

The most interesting thing mentioned in the FAQ pertains to what exactly the mod is. While it is not a full port of Red Dead Redemption to the PC, Team White does mention that the full map will feature "additional content" in the future. It remains to be seen what this additional content entails, whether it be from Red Dead Redemption's single player, multiplayer, or possibly original content. Either way, the mod is an impressive feat.

In other Grand Theft Auto V news, the game's multiplayer suite is still pumping out content with a new series of racing tracks, and a double XP event going through March 22. You can read more about it here.

Players can spend that extra money on a variety of items which are currently on sale for 25 percent off, including engine upgrades, turbo upgrades, penthouse apartments, and submachine guns.

Grand Theft Auto Online Continues To Expand With New Races, Cars, And More

Red Dead Redemption 2 may be on the horizon, but that doesn't mean Rockstar Games is abandoning its current, reigning champion in the open-world genre. Grand Theft Auto V's multiplayer suite, GTA Online, is the gift that just keeps on giving. Rockstar has been consistent in their support of the massively popular online mode, and they've just announced a slew of upcoming enhancements to the game.

GTA Online's next title update will add a new Stunt Race series, designed to take advantage of the game's supercharged Special Vehicles, allowing for GTA's best racers to show off their speed and skill in the most insane (and least street legal) vehicles the game has to offer.

Meanwhile, new Adversary Modes will be added throughout the spring, including Resurrection, which aims to put a GTA-twist on classic Dodgeball mechanics, and Top Down, which hearkens back to the overhead view of the original GTA titles. Along for this nostalgic ride are new vehicles, such as the Turismo Classic and the Infernus classic, which borrow their aesthetic from their original GTA III incarnations.

Rockstar is promising more surprises for the spring season, but it's also already looking ahead to summer's big update, Gunrunning, which will include new missions, combat-focused vehicles, and military-grade weaponry. Despite the massive hype for Red Dead Redemption 2, GTA Online is still going strong, and showing no signs of slowing down in the foreseeable future.

Grand Theft Auto IV And Episodes From Liberty City Now Backwards Compatible

Grand Theft Auto IV and its two DLC packs Episodes From Liberty City are now backwards compatible on Xbox One. Major Nelson revealed the news via a tweet:

Take-Two Earnings Call Reveals 75 Million Sales For Grand Theft Auto V And Strong Revenue Growth

Today Take-Two held its quarterly earning call and revealed a 15-percent net revenue growth during the holiday quarter. Take-Two credits much of its success to the continued and "better than expected" performance of Grand Theft Auto V, which has now sold 75 million copies, and the continued DLC support of Grand Theft Auto Online from Rockstar Games. Take-Two says that Rockstar will continue to support GTAO with more content.

The call also revealed interesting numbers for the publisher:

  • Mafia III is the publisher's fastest selling game in the first week and has, at the current date, sold-in over 5 million copies altogether.
  • Civilization VI is the fastest selling entry in the series and has sold 1.5 million units to date. The sales for the series as a whole have now passed 40 million copies.
  • NBA 2K17 has sold nearly 7 million copies.
  • The biggest contributors to Take-Two's revenue growth were Grand Theft Auto V/Online, WWE 2K17, NBA 2K17, and Civilization VI.
  • Take-Two expects its net revenue to increase from $ 542 million to $ 592 by March 31.
  • The publisher plans to support the Nintendo Switch with NBA 2K18 and beyond.

You can find all the talking points from the earnings call right here.

Our Take
Take-Two's strategy of continuing to support its franchises through DLC support appears to be paying off. Grand Theft Auto V continues to kill it, with fierce sales, which is shocking for a game that's over three years old, thanks to continued support.

It'll be interesting to see if Mafia III's story missions and continued support helps boosts its numbers as well.

Grand Theft Auto Online Expands Into Import/Export Business Today

Today another massive content drop arrives for Grand Theft Auto Online. The Import/Export expansion builds off the previous Further Adventure of Finance and Felony track, allowing criminal enterprises to expand into car theft to advance their organizations. Stealing cars and bringing them to your HQ to modify and resell them for big money is the name of the game now.

Your outfit can purchase an executive office garage that can eventually house a whopping 60 vehicles as you add new floors, making them the biggest automotive showrooms in GTA history. Once you own the entry level office garage (which houses 20 cars) you can build an onsite mod shop that gives you access to any customization option you would find at Benny's Motor Works.

Investing in a vehicle warehouse (which is different than the office garage) opens up a new line of cargo missions that challenge players to boost luxury vehicles and returning them unscathed – easier said than done. These missions go beyond just going to a point on the map and hot-wiring a car; sometimes all you have to go off is a photograph to decipher the location, and other missions task you with breaking into secure compounds. The warehouses can keep up to 40 vehicles. When you renovate these locations, their underground storage facilities can house the eight new special vehicles, which include a buggy with a ramped front, a truck with a massive plow on front, and several armed vehicles like a rocket firing muscle car.

As with every GTA Online expansion, Import/Export comes with another infusion of fashion clothing, and tattoos. Check out the trailer below:

Race Like Tron In The Latest Addition To Grand Theft Auto Online

Rockstar is adding another piece of content to the already mammoth Grand Theft Auto Online – this time an homage to cult movie Tron.

The Deadline update (out now) adds the Nagasaki Shotaro bike – a neon-lit creation that's unlocked for purchase via the new Deadline adversary mode. This mode pits you against three other players in an arena, and like in the movie, your Shotaro emits a light trail behind it that kills on contact. Boost, Zoned (slows down time), and Hop (jump over an opponent's trail) power ups also add to the dangerous strategy.

Playing Deadline through November 21 and you can earn double GTA$ and RP, and there are other discounts and a premium race during that time as well. Click the link below to the official website for full details.
