While it probably won’t do much to quell the desire of fans to hear more about game guru Shigeru Miyamoto’s plans for the upcoming Pikmin 3 for Wii U, Nintendo did make an announcement likely to please fans of Captain Olimar and his band of colorful plant-animals.
A Wii version of Pikmin 2, previously released on GameCube, will hit store shelves on June 10th alongside Mario Power Tennis for the suggested retail price of $ 19.99 each. This iteration of Pikmin 2 will feature controls “optimized for the Wii console,” which, while a little vague, probably implies some waggling is involved.
Nice timing by Nintendo in plotting the release date for this. With the company already committing to a Pikmin 3 showing at E3 this year, which runs through June 7th, releasing its predecessor soon thereafter will give new fans a chance to get familiar with the franchise.
